I've got one on ebay but it's a 1980P. Just wanted to see if that's something I should know.

Hate to see it be like a PAL version or something.

I have until 4:50 eastern to bid so if anyone knows I'd be grateful.

You didn't check that detail before you bid it?

    P suffex often means PAL

I'm checking that detail here with you all BEFORE I bid it.

I asked the guy but it's a store so I don't expect a response in time.

I'm not an idiot. Can someone post who has one of these or knows the answer to my question?

The only thing google had on a 1980p was a place to buy the manual, not the manual itself.

OK how786 had a post where he said he had a 1980p. so if he lives in the US I can assume it's not pal. anyone know?

I located a few in the US but can't confirm standard. Have you considered calling Panasonic?

  8. 8 minutes to go. . .

The 1980P is a slight upgrade on the 1980. I have the 1980P, and it's a magnificent piece of work. It is not PAL.

    Good luck!

    Awesome!

Thanks I found both manuals on the panasonic site, but there was nothing in them easily found om what format they were

EDIT: OK I won it for 177.50 including shipping. Everyone cross fingers that it really does work "great" as described
