    I downloaded ffmpegX v0.0.9x r2 to convert flash video files to mp4s and mp3s, but it does not recognise any flv files. Ditto for wmp, avi, mov and other video files. I am a novice, but tried to follow the instructions and download all requested files.
    Any suggestions?

    Possibly make sure it is in /Applications and remove spaces/special characters in your disk name.

    I did this and reinstalled the binaries. It now recognises the file types but won't convert to anything readable still.
