Has anyone tried using DVDR3400's USB 2.0 input with a harddrive or flash drive to play divx or mpegs?

From the Manual on page 72 it states this:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/d/d...37_dfu_eng.pdf
Connectivity
Front Connections:
i.LINK DV in (IEEE 1394 4-pin)
CVBS In (CAM 1)
S-Video Y/C In (CAM 2)
Audio left/right In
USB 1.1
So the same playback as the 5960 should be expected.
Good Luck
As mentioned before, it is USB1.1. However, it does work with some hard drive encloures. I have even used it to watch Xvid movies with AC3 (sounds great) but:
- Divx/Xvid of HD resolution won't work (not even from DVDs)
- Given the low USB1.1 bandwidth, some scenes will "clog" the pipeline and things will stumble during them. Annoying but no showstopper so far.
- Make sure to update the firmware.
This things is a bit clunky but I am extremely pleased with its recording quality even at slow speeds (and on Dual Layer Memorex +R).
My only real frustration -- and this applies to all PVR recorders -- is not being able to capture DolbyD/AC3 from the Motorola DCT-6214.
