    Dear all,

This is my first post, and I would appreciate your kind help. I was wondering how you can play those WMV/Avi files on television. Apparently if you buy a DIVX player, you can do it provided that your files are burned onto CDs. But can you play it directly from your computer without having to burn the files to CD?

    My sincere thanks,

There are two ways I can think of:

    1. By connecting the PC to your TV via a TV output (or VGA / HDMI if you have an LCD or Plasma TV).
    2. Using a transmitter which transmits picture to the TV from PC wireless.

Either method bypasses your DVD player though, so the only way to utilise that would be to burn the CD's or DVD's.

    you need a TV with a vga/dvi in 9%
you need a divx capable DVD player 3%
get a hard disk media player (eg rhapsody 250) or get a pinnacle showcentre .. it sucks the files off your pc and then displays them on your TV 1%

Hi RabidDog, thank you. Do you mean that I still need to buy both a divx capable DVD player and a hard disk media player at the same time?

    Fantasyn,

RabidDog gave 4 different ways to achieve your goal, with a percentage indicating the likelyhood you have the means to use each method.

Any one of the methods will let you watch your DivX files on TV.
