All I want to do is take my video file and put it on a DVD so I can play it on the TV. That's it. It's an 8 minute video.

I used DivxToDvD to make them IFO files (It didn't let me choose, it just made them.).
My video is in a VIDEO_TS folder. There's two video files, one is 6 KB, the other is 16 KB. They both play the same video... So I don't know what's up there. I assume the 16KB one is the one I need.

Anyway, so I have ImgBurn- and I followed a guide that told me to go into Build Mode if I had a Video_TS folder. So I went into Build Mode, put the folder in the 'Source', fixed all the 'options', 'labels' and all that, then I hit 'Build'. It gave me two files- one MDS that's 4.21KB. And one ISO file that's 147MB.
So then I go to 'Write' Mode. Put my new ISO file into the 'Source'. And I notice that the 'Write' button is faded out. Not clickable. I see the at the bottom of the window on the bar it says, "No Writers Detected". Which is ridiculous because I have an HP DVD/CD Writer Combo. So then I thought, "Well, maybe I ought to put the MDS file in there..." So I did just that. Still the same result.
The bottom window says, "21:25:13 Errors were encountered when trying to access 3 drives."
And, "21:25:13 These drives will not be visible in the program."

My Blank DVD+R is in the (E Drive.

So then I thought, "Maybe I have to do this 'authoring' business first..." But when I tried doing that, I didn't get anywhere. All I need to do with that is get a menu on there, and 1 chapter.

I tried "add title" to put my video in there. But it didn't recognize the format. (Video_TS) So I thought I'd try the ISO/MDS file ImgBurn gave me. They did the same thing. It seems to only want MPEG-1 and MPEG-2.

But I was told to work with these three programs. So I don't see how I can make these Video_TS files work with it.
My DivxtoDVD didn't give me the option to change them into M2v or M1v. (It's the freeware version.) It just changed them into Video_TS files.

So I dunno, I'm just completely stuck!
Nothing seems to work at all.

And I've tried guide after guide. They don't help me. If someone is familiar with all three of these (freeware) programs, I'd really appreciate some help.

If you have Nero, you can just choose DVD video mode, and copy the files from your video_ts into Nero and burn.

I'm not familiar with IMGBurn, bur it sounds like the install is corrupt or not completed properly. Most burning software scans for burners during install. If it has a menu option to "rescan drives" or something similiar, you could try that. If not, I would unisntall and reinstall the app.

I'm a bit confused as to what has gone wrong, if I were you I would start again.

Start DivxToDvD and import your 8min file. DivxToDvD will convert the file and it will also author it.
When DivxToDvD has finished, start ImgBurn (make sure you have the latest version) hit CTRL+ALT+B, find the VIDEO_TS folder that DivxToDvD created and drag the folder into ImgBurn, you should now be able to burn the folder, your DVD is finished.

Sounds like you have something else running at the same time that is preventing ImgBurn from seeing your drives. Try it next with nothing else running.

Ridiculous or not, it's indicating that ImgBurn can't find find the writer. Make sure you don't have AnyDVD running or another packet-writing program running. ImgBurn needs to have exclusive access to the DVD drive in order to function correctly.

Check over at the ImgBurn forums - the FAQs and other posts may turn up a solution to your problem (having/posting a log from ImgBurn is most helpful).

Additionally, once you get it working, in "Build" mode you can change the destination to the DVD writer directly, which will bypass building in ISO file and burn the VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders direct to the DVD. If you don't need to save the ISO, this is a bit shorter work flow.

    Hope that helps,
    Jim
