I have copied VCD movie 2 AVSEQ Files (total size 1400 MB) to my Hard Drive. How can I reduce its size about half converting in AVI format. I have seen many movies posted in different forums in AVI formats complete movies in size about 800 MBs.

    Can please someone help me.

I personally would have used vcdgear to pull the mpegs from the dats first , this would have reduced there size a little ... then combine them with a simple alignsplice avisynth script , and loaded it into vdub ... from there , apply filters , resize video compressor... dual pass encoding , audio compression ... output to avi .

You will want a bitrate calculator as well ... http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=VideoCalc
