I have movies in DivX *.avi file format that I would like to be able to play on my tv without having to spend hours creating/converting to video cds. Is there a recommended standalone dvd player that can automatically play .avi files burned to cd. If so, any reccomendations. I don't need top of the line, just something to get me buy, preferably under $100

check the dvd players list on the left. You can select features like divx playback. There are plenty to choose from.

Ok, stupid question: does plays divx means it will play a divx avi burned as a file straight to a cd?

  4. Hi-

Although there are limitations (and more for XviD than for DivX), the answer to your question is basically "yes".
