Canopus ADVC 300: best settings / tweaks ?

I have a canopus ADVC 300 and was wondering what settings can be tweaked in order to improve results on a PAL system.

I googled for a good guide but didn't find anything.

Currently I have everything on default and it looks fine to me.

But maybe I don't know what is possible.

They also have a forum at their site.

I would have the same question: Does anybody have experience which settings to use for capturing VHS?
It seems to me in default the output of the Canopus ADVC-300 might be a bit dark, but I could be wrong.
