    Hi,

    Thanks for reading this post.
I'm sure you've heard this before, and i have allready searched.
But i can not find the answer.

    Heres the problem.
when ever i drop a file into ffmpegX, In the From section i always get UNRECOGNIZED.

The file is in the Applications folder, and the HD is called MacintoshHD

When the file encoded, it has a file size of zero.

    Can anyone help me please?

  4. Possibly the application is not at the first level of /Applications folder, or your hard disk has special characters in its name.

    Hi Major

    Thanks for the reply.

As you can see in my top message, the hard drive is named MacintoshHD.
    So, no special characters.

the ffmpegX application is directly in the applications folder. (no sub folder)

Please can you advise on anything else.

At the moment i'm trying to run the triel period before buying, but i want to make sure ot works first.

    Thanks again
    Jeff

  6. Sorry, I didn't see the end of your message. If these conditions are met then I'm not sure of what it can be, perhaps try to put ffmpegX to trash and get a fresh copy from the .dmg disk image again.

    Thats ok,

Thanks for all your help, I shall try and delete it, then let you know if it worked.

    Another quick question:
Do You know the best way of convert avi/mpeg to flv?

i've built a website where users can upload videos to a database (php.mysql). I want the videos to display in a flash media player that i'm building. (so they need to be flv)

How do you go about converting automatically, either on upload or before they are played?
Do you know of any articles that could help?

    Thanks once again.

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks

    i've tryed that one,

avi i'm doing does not have any audio, does this make a difference?

    Progress information:
FFmpeg version CVS, Copyright (c) 2000-2004 Fabrice Bellard
Mac OSX universal build for ffmpegX
    libavutil version: 49.0.0
    libavcodec version: 51.9.0
    libavformat version: 50.4.0
    Input #0, avi, from '/Users/jeffspires/Desktop/face.avi':
    Fri Dec 1 13:17:31 GMT 2006
    bitrate: 867 kb/s
    Stream #0.0, 12.00 fps(r): Video: cinepak, yuv420p, 696x510
Number of stream maps must match number of output streams

any more advice would be great thanks.

    cheers
