    I have a DAV-X1 player and am looking for the possibility to make it code free. I have only the original remote control.

    The alternative is to use your PC/DVD burner/software to make a code free disc, from the original.

    You might be able to buy a chip that you can solder into your Sony player to make it region free. Do a search on Google
