there are many programs on here, that I`m sure, like myself and many others, would love to use, but have very little, if no command line experience at all. Would it be possible for anyone to generate a primer on line command language.

    Thank you in advance.

Some command line driven programs, but not all, use the convention
    command /?
to display the available options and parameters.

Some programs still use the older convention
    command help

Some programs provide no help function, you have to read the manual or helpfile.

Tell us which program you need help with for more info.

To what drjtech said I'll add "-h" and "--help". You might be able to "make" a help file. Some programs (not all unfortunately) will do this. Working in the programs directory, at the command promt type:

    program -h > help.txt

replace "program" and "-h" with what you have. You should get a text file with the programs help info.

  6. fwiw, I think its usually refered interchagably as, x264 or h264, since most
peoples use the terms in a generic sense, sort of. Anyways.

You know, a while back I did a topic on this. You can read it, since it
has a lot of info, thanks to those members who use it, and helped me out
at the time. I need this info because I was coding a small gui tool to
help me out with certain repetitive processes that I constantly doing at
    the time.

But here's the link to the topic:

    --> H.264 - Where does one get the listing of all x264.exe 'params' ? -- 08.27.06
