    Hey guys,

Ive been looking all over, but cant seem to find some burning software that allows custom menus for AVI/DIVX/XVID files. I have some tv shows in avi format, and would like to burn them to a DVDR with some appropriate themes for the background menus. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers guys!

Are you trying to make a standard DVD Video disc from AVI sources OR are you just burning the AVI files to play as-is i.e., on a MPEG-4 capable DVD player?

In short you need to explain better just what it is you are trying to do as it is unclear now.

    OK I understand now

Unfortunately there really isn't a way to make a menu. Well actually that isn't 100% true but read on ...

DivX 6.x does support menu creation BUT I haven't looked into it much myself and from my understanding the hardware support (i.e., DivX capable DVD players) is very shoddy for the "advanced" features of DivX 6.x (i.e., menus).

I did just pick up the Philips DVP-5140 which is a newer MPEG-4 capable DVD player that supports DivX Ultra (DivX 6.x with "advanced" features) but so far I've read very little in the way of user experience on this other than it seems to not work that great with the DivX 6.x menus ... but that is based on only a very few comments that I've read. Seems no one is all that interested in this feature (go figure).

It's possible for you as the thread creator to edit the first post and change the topic (the subject) of the thread. If I were you I would change it to something like, "Need help making DivX 6 Menus" and that should draw more attention to the thread.

However very few players support this so I don't know what you have as you haven't said and your computer specs (which has a DVD player section) is empty.
