My guess would be svideo. I don't have a 360 but chances are svideo would be sharper.

Just try both and find out. You won't harm anything that way by trying.

The xbox 360 is capable of hidef output. VGA will be far better if you're running hidef and and your projector supports it.

My guess would be VGA because it is similar to component but the only way to find out is to try both.

Do you mean VGA the 640x480 video resolution, or are you talking about VGA the connector and cable? A VGA port and cable can carry over 2048x1536.

The question is what resolution is your projector? Even if it's only 640x480 the VGA cable will likely be better because RGB carries all three color channels at the same resolution. S-video has the color channels at half (at best) the resolution of the intensity channel. So your colors will be much sharper with VGA.

On the other hand, if your projector is really cheap and only has 320x240 resolution, both may look about the same.

There are other factors too -- like whether the xbox can output at your projectors native resolution, what it's optimized for, etc.

There are too many unknowns to answer your question definitively. You'll have to try both.
