90min CD burning problem

Hi,
I use VCDEasy v3.10. For the first time I tried to burn a 87min video, but it is giving me warning masseges. The blank CDR that I try to use is of 800MB/90min capacity, according to the label on the CDR. Now when I wanted to see the CD info, VCDEasy is showing me it as a 80min CDR.

So how can I record the 87min Video in my 90min CDR using VCDEasy? Do I need to use overburn facility?

No 90 min CD will report 90 min - they appear as 80 min for all apps. 90 min is out of the CD specs. Basically, it's a 80 min CD with great capacity for overburning. Just go ahead and burn. If you writer can overburn that much, you'll be fine.

I simulated witth "allow overburn" option enabled, though it gave 3yellow warnings regarding disc size, the burn simulation was successful'

So I need to keep the option "allow overburn" enabled and go ahead with the burning- right? Do I need to change any additional settings?

Yes, that's right.

Nothing else is different, compared to doing a regular 80 min VCD.
However, note that 90 min CDs are not fully CD compliant, and some players may (even if I haven't heard of any) have problems playing them.

Following your instructions I have completed the task successfully. i have a PHILIPS DVD player, and it played the CD without any hitch .

Not exactly true.
Prassi Ones with my LG 4040B and my LG 4167B report 90 minutes
available to burn with no need to select overburning.

VERY hardware/software dependent....sad but true.
That is why I do not own a Pioneer burner. I'd love
to own one but they do not recognize the full 90 minutes
either but at least they tell you upfront in the specs...nobody
else even mentions it in their specs....except a FEW LG's.

I've never used VCDEasy but at least you are half-way there with an LG....maybe.....
90 minute CD-R's are a pain in the butt aren't they. There is NO WAY I would go through the hassles most people do to get them to work. I just got lucky and found the right combination of hardware and software for making my 90 minute audio and 800mb data CD's.
I'm sure my LG would react the same way as yours had I been using VCDEasy so don't get discouraged....

The issue isn't that they don't work - they do! It's just that most software/hardware doesn't recognize them as anything but a 80 min CD. They can still be burned up to 800 MB/90 min if you enable overburn.

Mine always work BUT I simply wanted software/hardware that accurately
reads all of the available space on the disc. I simply refused to resort to
overburning a 90 minute CD-R when in my warped brain it is not overburning since I am not infringing on the lead-in/out area of the disc...which overburning does.

What I'm trying to say is if it wasn't for my combination of hardware/software I
most likely would NOT burn 90 minute CD-R's.
