    How Do i convert a M4V video file into mpg or avi so that I can edit the video? Currently Vegas does not support it.

    m4v as in a raw MPEG-4 Part 2 video stream or as in an incorrectly named mp4?

    I use Tunebite, convert it to an mp4, then send it over to Super to convert it to an xvid avi, and then clean it up in Vdub-mpeg2. Voila, good looking avi file.

    UltraQuickTimeConverter converts this to avi's or mpegs. Tested.
