when I copy recorded programs from my Tivo unit to the Go-Video DVD Burner, I am able to play the burned DVD with no problems on the Go -Video DVD or any other stand alone DVD unit, but am unable to play or make additional copies on my PC, the dvd just hangs and I have to power off the pc and then open the drive. This has done it on every dvd I have tried to make additional copies of. Same problem going from VHS tape to DVD recordings. What am i doing wrong if anything? the Tivo unit is an older unit and is not capable of connecting to a pc directly. [/quote]

I expect the problem is with the format of the DVD's from the burner. Don't know why they would cause your pc to lock up, unless they are a type of disc not supported by the cdrom/dvdrom drive in your pc. Have you tried them in other pc's?

    Your problem is pretty common.

You can try DVDshrink to capture the video to harddisk, then burn that version.

You can also copy the the vob files to a harddisk folder, and use ifoedit to generate the ifo file, then burn it.
