Need suggestion for extended warranty for Pioneer 640h DVD-Recorder

I bought from Amazon (not from their stores often linked to) and am thinking seriously about a couple yr. or so extended warranty.
I have no clue as to a respected and decent company to buy from.
Anyone with experience and pleased I would appreciate some advice.
It's about 3 months old now. (est.)

A few years ago I purchased a WarranTech (RepairMaster) extended warranty online at an excellent discount for a DLP HDTV I had purchased a few months earlier... after the factory warranty expired, my unit developed a lamp ballast problem that they covered with no problem at all. The repair expense got high enough to kick in their unit replacement warranty (I opted for a cash payment instead because I was in the process of moving). It all worked out very well in my case.

I bought one from GE on a DVD recorder, it was very reasonably priced considering the price of the recorder. When the burner went bad and it was too much to fix, they gave me the amount of a new recorder in cash. It wasn't even half what I spent on the original one, they'd come down that much by then.

So I wouldn't have to buy from Amazon's offers? If not how do you make initial contact or find a 3rd party for coverage?
I'll probably go for one but not sure about the process - if not through the place of purchase.

Sears sells warranties on almost anything. I don't know how much they cost.

This was my warranty company, GE-Zurich.

O.K., several comments in other threads on the likely premature failure of electrolytic capacitors in today's electronics. We already knew the burners and HDDs in these DVDRs can develop problems with heavy use. All the more reason to spring for the extended warranty, I'd say, assuming you can get one from a good outfit at a reasonable price. (But you obviously wouldn't bother doing this for a Lite-On that can be replaced for $100. . . . )

So far, these threads have logged some favorable remarks about GE and Warrantech. Does anyone have yea or nay info on Warranty Corporation of America (WaCA) ? That appears to be the ext. warranty provider that Onecall is currently using.
