I have a DVD movie without hebrew subtitles.
I downloaded hebrew subtitles for a divx version of this movie, and i want to sync it.
i tried using Subtitle Workshop to play the movie and than sync the subtitles manualy but because its a DVD movie in VOB format Subtitle Workshop doesnt play it right.
so i thougt maybe using Subrip i can make an SRT file of the original DVD subtitles and than sync it with the translated subtitles in Subtitle Workshop, but after subrip finishes ripping the subtitles (using OCR) it tells me there are 244 overlapping subtitles... and when i looked at the SRT file with Subtitle Workshop i saw that it duplicated many of the lines, and not line after line some times even farther in the file youll see a line from the start.
can anyone help me plz? tell me how to fix this duplication or tell me on another and better way to sync them?
BTW i tried using the simple method of syncronizing the first and last line and it didnt work.
there are big diffrences in the lines count between the 2 files.

You probably have already seen this guide: http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=275603

If not, it may help. I rarely do subtitles, but others may have some ideas.

Subtitle Creator can sync a *.srt to an existing subtitle in a DVD, look in the help files for instructions. It is not difficult.

Use Subtitle Workshop if you need to convert your downloaded sub to *srt first.

No, then you have missed something. You can create multiple links between the DVD subtitles and the .srt, at least in the version I'm running (v2.0.4). I don't know if there is any limit to how many links you can create, play a bit with it. It's more powerful than you think.

Yea i know what you mean, but there are too big of diffrences in the line count between the two subtitle files one is 741 lines and one is 1456, so i cant get it to sync with less than 300ms diffrences... some lines get synced fine and some with 700ms-3000ms diffrence :\
