After the (failed) conversion is done, press the
button in the ffmpegX Progress window, to get the log. Copy that to a text file and attach to a post here, so we can have a look. The log should hold information on what it failed on, then hopefully we can suggest a why and a fix.
here,

Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.0 -> #0.0
It seems your clip has the order of video and audio reversed. The audio stream is listed before the video stream; and ffmpegX expects it the other way around. There is a checkbox in the audio tab to "invert mapping", which tells ffmpegX how to deal with that. Tick that checkbox and encode again.Originally Posted by JJeweler17
You are trying to trancode wmv into something else, I suppose. (MPEG-4 Part 2?) I won't say ffmpegX is never capable of handling WMV. However, when it comes to WMV3, chances that ffmpegX can handle it are low. That's my personal experience with ffmpegX v.0.99u. So I don't know if the latest version gives you better luck.
didnt work , i got this now-

Like tbluewater said, some WMVs are unsupported. I suppose the Play button won't work then, either?Originally Posted by JJeweler17

That's one for the developer, I suppose.
No clue.Originally Posted by JJeweler17
There are two ways to handle WMV. If you have Virtual PC, you can transcode WMV3 into XviD or whatever without spending a dime. Another way of doing it is use of shareware. One Mac shareware that I know does it, too.
what's it called?
I am currently having the same problem with the same log info, has there been any updates to this issue that might help me out?
