    I was wondering about something, if you somehow ripped a HDdvd to a dvd9, and played it on an upconverting dvd player, would you notice any sugnifigant difference then a standard dvd?

    You'd have to downconvert the hddvd to 720x480 to have it work on a dvdr so there wouldn't be any point to it. You'd just be reupconverting it like you would with a normal dvd.
