  1. Hi all,
I need to learn more about transport stream files, like calculate the bit rate (using PCR packet), mux, demux, analyse the tables (PAT, PMT) and so. Does anybody have a link, or a document very complete about .TS

Here's a good generic link for transport streams:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_stream

    Wikipedia is a nice service.

For conversion I use project x to convert to mpg and then cut commercials with mpg2cut2. I then use project x to demux the mpg file into a m2v and ac3 file. Then I use tmpgenc to convert the m2v into a ntsc 720x480 m2v. With tmpgnec I remux the m2v with the ac3 file and I get a fully authorable mpg file with 5.1 surround sound if it was recorded in 5.1. If its progressive keep it progressive if its interlaced you'll have to use a program to identify wether its top or bottom frame first.

    There are guides here https://www.videohelp.com/convert
