Universal Remote

I have just purchased a Yamaha RXV359 Amp and the number of controls I own now is stupid.
1 for TV, 1 for DVD, 1 for Cable, 1 for Amp, 1 for Music Amp, 1 for Cd Player, 1 for Radio. So I now have 7 remotes. Is it possible to buy a all in one remote with a touch screen, colour screen so I can just use the 1?

universal remotes mx3000 is a color touch screen all in one remote ...

if you dont want to pay that much and dont need a touch screen - get an universal remote mx850 or 350 ...

if you dont need the power of the macro function and / or rf output (works through closed dooors with a rf base station) , get a harmony remote (various models)

I've got six or seven myself. The big problem with the universal remotes is that they may not have all the specialized buttons available. Some of the more expensive ones probably come the closest. A 'learning' remote may be one way to be able to transfer the codes directly from the old remote instead of just using a generic code for each type of device.

When I did use a universal remote, I could never remember which button did what. I finally gave up and just keep the whole pile of remotes on the coffee table.

with a universal remote mx350-850-3000- the buttons are programed and labelled (except for transport controls and the like) ... you may mean a different type ..

One with a touch screen where you could customize and label each button would be nice. It just seems like every remote I have has some obscure button that the universals don't have and that I always seem to need.
Volume, channel and play, etc., are easy enough, but when it comes to selecting and navigating menus, opening and closing trays and a few other of those type of commands is where I seem to have problems.

Guess I should look around again and see what's available.

EDIT: I just did a count and I have 10 devices that use remote controls.

I've got an MX-3000 and have everything programmed from 2 Sony 400 DVD jukeboxes to lights in the room and even my Roomba robot vacum cleaner. The learning curve is a little steep at first on the MX-3000, but once you get it down you can pretty much get rid of all your regular remotes. You can completely customize the screens and use any color graphic you want. It's a great little "toy".

and a street price around $600 the same item you guys are talking about ??

After my comments earlier, I went out an bought a Sony RM-AV2500. It doesn't as much as some of the more expensive ones, but I paid only about $100US for it. So far, it works really well. If the included codes don't work, it can learn from any working remote. It can control 12 devices. It has a touch screen and I've managed to replace most of my remotes, but I haven't finished programing it yet. I'm happy with it.

Yes, these remotes are not cheap (Mx-3000, Pronto, etc.). I actually got mine online (not ebay) from a place I found on Pricegrabber. It was about $600 (much sweeter price than $1000).

As for the Sony remote, if it does what you want and need it to do then you made the right choice.
