System: Dual Core 3.0, 1GB Ram, Plenty of HD space
Card: Digital Rapids DRC-500
I am taking merged .vob files (merged via copy /b command) and encoding them into .wmv files. My issue is during encoding, I am getting very poor fps (avg. 4-10).
Digital Rapids tells me to play with the DirectShow filter, but there are so many to try.
Does anyone have any recomendations before I download multiple filters and muck up the system that has a fresh OS install?
Thank you,
Jeff

Back up your registry - Google for Rdilly - the simplest registry backup app of all.
What are your settings when converting to WMV ? 4-10fps might not be out of the ordinary.
The fastest way of decoding VOB files is to Run them Through DGindex , then frameserve through AVIsynth to the WMV encoder. There's even a GUI that can help do that http://nic.dnsalias.com/wm9enc.html -
3 streams as follows:
350K - 400x300
650K - 512x384
1000K - 600x452
These are encoded for use on our websites.
