    Hello to Everbody,

It means a great deal to me to have your support on that below

I am using Movie Factory 5 software and Photoimpact11 to change ufo files and have the following issue:
    1. I am opening the Photoimpact and loading ufo files from:
Ulead DVD MovieFactory 5\Content\Menu Template\4x3\Customize folder.
Right here what I do not understand there are frame, navigation button, one scene layout, scene selection layout, text only layout.

Now what I am doing e.g. loading a ufo file named 05_SceB01.ufo to Photoimpact and trying to add more frames with fill-out windows shown in the menu then 2 per one page. I wanna have 6 windows per page.
I tried to save the file I opened even under different name.
But when I open movie factory there is not the file or it is not changed I made in the place of option of all menu templates.

    1. What do I do wrong? I see that there is some 05_SceB01_MS.ini and setting.ini in the \4x3\Scene Button folder. May be I am missing to create a new ini while saving a new ufo file.
maybe I am loading ufo files from the wrong folder?
    No clue about it...

    2. How I can easily create 6 windows per page or even 8 using Photoimpact.
and then how do I see a new template in movie factory?

    3. Where do I modify navigation buttons of the template?

    4. and finally how to create a submenu in the movie factory.
I mean I want to have 6 windows in the main menu and after clicking I want to have submenu of each window?

I would be more than appreciated of any good advise.

I am attaching the examplorary that I think should work under movie factory with 5 windows but it does not.

    Thank you in advance

    ANDY

    Hi Everybody,

I would again ask kindly for good advise of what I do wrong.
You are an expert and this would allow me to create my own ufo. [template]

How do you do that and what folder in movie factory you put the new ufo file into?

    THANK YOU SO MUCH

AFAIK you can't change the placeholders in Movie Factory. Wat you can change is the object colors and textures etc. Essentially whatever is there you can edit.

PhotoImpact 10 edits Ulead's proprietary image format. I got the trial and made a UFO once, for use in Ulead DVD Workshop 2. But PSD files made in Photoshop 7 or later work much better, or at least the very same.

This said, understand my experience comes from DVDWS2. I don't use MF, that's too beginner for what I needed.

    Guys.

I don't wanna change them in Movie Factory. It is probably unfeasible.

Can you show me how you create e.g 6 windows per page [see attached section]?
Can do you make it using Photoimpact? Where do you put a new ufo file once it is made?

This is a problem I cannot understand...

    Please help

My knowledge of MF and what you can and cannot do with the templates is limited but to the best of knowledge you can't do that with MF. Using PI you can only change the attributes of whatever objects are currently in the template. Least that is the way it was when I experimented with it a few few years ago.

The reason you can't do that is pretty simple, if you could you'd be approaching the abilities of DVD Workshop at least as far as being able to fully customize the look of the menu. They aren't going to put a $50 dollar product onh the market that can do what their $400 product is made to do.

    I could be wrong tho...

    Hi thecoalman,

This is probably the reason having trial versions I did not think of yet.
This is what wanted. Thank you so much

Ulead has a plugin for PhotoImpact to save a menu. Get it from

That says it's for DVD Workshop. Frankly I don't see the need, that appears it's for making templates, in other words for creating pre-defined placeholders such as the ones in the image the OP posted and save it as a template for future use. DVD workshop by itself doesn't even need templates, you start with a blank page and build your own menu. Everthing is completey customizable including the templates already present.
