  1. Just a quick question guys, how do we find out the format of a video ?
    Say I got MOVIE.MPG how do i know if its mpeg-1 or mpeg-2 or maybe someone renamed it from movie.wmv to movie.mpg . how wud i know its WMV
    pls help
    it came in my mind when i was burning a mpg file as vcd n svcd and in both case it said its not vcd compliant and its not svcd compliant and needs encoding cos so far i had known that mpeg is either vcd or svcd and we shud be able to burn either of 2 without encoding :S
    pls guide me

    H:\movie01.MPG

    Video : 1023 MB, 2530 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 480*480 (1.0:1), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported
    Audio : 90 MB, 224 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 [0xc0], Supported


    what will be the easiest way to burn this without encoding etc ?
    and how to learn a bit more about this result ive got

    That's XSVCD - 480 x 480 MPEG-2, bitrate under 2600kbps and 224kbps MP2 audio. It's the 48Khz audio that's not compliant.

    Untick "Create Standard Compliant SVCD" tickbox in Nero and it should accept it without re-encoding it.

  5. This was a great help but this program doesnt understand NSV formated files.

    Us there one that can tell me whether my NSV file was done in VP6 or VP8 format. This is important because i am currently converting from VP6 to VP8 for my video streams and i had a system crash and i dont know where the nsvate program left off

  6. I am sorry, i just found a way to do this. Winamp has an option in the playlist window. When you right click the file and choose file info, it will tell you everything about that video's format.
