can binary .sub be converted to text .sup

hi guys,
the software i use to convert avi to dvd is SVCD2DVD.
the divx movies i get come with a binary sub file but my software only supports text sup files.

is there a way to make the binary sub file into a text sup file. Ive tried subtitle creator but that only handles text sub files.

or is there a way that i can convert binary sub file to a text sub file which then i could use subtitle creator to make a sup file !!!

Sup files are bitmap based though, unless it is using a different kind of sup. Should be a tool called sub2sup or similar that can convert.

There's no such thing as a text based SUP file, as far as I know. Perhaps you mean a text based SUB file? And if so, then there are a number of apps that can OCR from IDX/SUB to text based SUB, among them Sub Resynch, which comes with the VobSub package.
