Can't Play Video CD on Sony DVD Player?

I am a newbie, and I recently ripped a DVD move to MPEG1, then created a Video CD with Roxio CD Creator 5.0 with the help of this site. If I insert the CD in a computer, it works with WINDVD but will not play in my Sony DVD Player. Can anyone give me advice on what I may be doing wrong?

nothing...Sony are notoriously strict for not playing VCDs on CDRs, A) Check to make absolutely sure your DVD player supports VCDs B) Try using a CDRW instead, the Sonys that do play VCDs tend have better success from CDRWs

Thanks for your comments on using s CDRW instead of a CDR.
I created a new CDRW with Roxio, and the Sony DVD player can see the CD now, and knows it is a picture CD, but displays an error when trying to play it.

I wonder what would be a good DVD Player to replace the Sony with where I won't have any compatibility issues in the future from burning. The only reason I have a Sony, is all my components are from Sony. TV, Receiver, VHS, CD Juke Box, etc. So I have one remote that works with everything.

There are Sony models out there that play VCDs fine...you just have to check the compability list to your left..or Sony's web site.
