Is it possible to remove a commercial that was placed somewhere in the middle of a movie as a chapter without re-authoring and to keep all DVD menus/extras?

  2. Hi-

Yeah, open it in VobBlanker, click on the movie, double-click on it in the lower screen and you should see it open up in a new screen, divided by chapters. Preview them until you find the one you want, highlight it, and "Blank" it out. Hit "Apply", give it an output folder, and "Process". Then test it out to make sure everything's OK before burning.

What I am looking for is something that allows you to "cut" a chapter and not just blank one. For example, if a movie has 10 chapters and you blank a chapter, the movie will still have 10 chapters and it will skip the blanked chapter. What I want is to
totally remove a chapter so the movie will have 9 chapters.

  4. Yes, it'll still have 10 chapters after blanking the one. If it's at a fade out to black, the chances are good that you'll never notice the very slight delay as it goes through the blanked chapter. However, to remove the chapter entirely, the freeware tool of choice is PGCEdit. It's a bit tricky, though, but if you mess with it a bit, you should be able to figure it out. If the chapter you want to remove is 9, you want the navigation to go from 8 to 10, skipping 9. Not so hard if you look around in PGCEdit.

DVDRemake should be able to do this also.
    If in doubt, Google it.

What I am looking for can probably be done only be re-authoring, so does anyone knows what software can I use to cut a chapter from a movie before re-authoring?
