problem streaming windows media video...

Hi!
I got this new pc a few months ago and I've realized that it has a problem streaming windows media videos...
They always start to play fine and then after a few seconds or a minute it freezes the image while continuing with the audio so it's NOT my connection.
the same thing happens everywhere but only with streaming, when I download wmv videos they play just fine.
here are my pc specs:

Windows xp SP2
Pentium IV 2.8GHZ
512 MB ram
256 mb ati radeon 9550 video card
current WMP version: 11 (downloaded it a few days ago, I've had WMP 9 and 10 and it didn't work either)
maybe it's a video card conflict or something?

well, maybe your server is still misconfigged for streaming
personally, I make them wait with a right click dl and the whole thing plays properly
