  1. I've been looking for some kind of software where I would be able to select (for example) My Documents and Settings folder and have it split in DVD sized or CD sized folders.

Does anybody know of any software that does that or somthing like it?

    Thanks in advance.

WinRAR and/or WinZIP spring to mind (both should have 'No Compression' options so that extraction time isn't a problem).

    I'm assuming it's for backup purposes ?
    If in doubt, Google it.

If for backup purposes why not just use backup software? Your Profile doesn't say so you could be using Win 2000 or Xp. For Windows Xp this MS link may be of help.

    http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...howbackup.mspx

In short it is installed in XP Pro and installable fro XP Home.

  4. The reason that I cant use the backup built into windows xp is, sometimes the data is one a harddrive connected to my computer so all I have to work with are the folders.

There has to be some kind of software that splits folders up into whatever size you want so you can burn them to a dvd or cd.

    BTW I am running XP.

    Thanks

My apologies, but I don't follow what you're trying to say here

    Could you elaborate ?
    If in doubt, Google it.
