i tried using HC Encoder with DVD Rebuilder, but the output video was all messed up. the best way i can describe it is it looks like when you fastforward a VHS tape with a crappy VCR, the picture goes all wavy. or if the vcr cannot track the video very well, the image goes all messed up. its so bad that i cant make out any of the picture at all.
any ideas?

If you are positive the source is good, then i would re-install DVD-Rebuilder as it looks like the something could be wrong with the AVISynth installation or something along those lines.

it was avisynth! i was using version 2.57 alpha. i decided to go all the way back to 2.55 just incase, and its fine now. are there any benefits in the newer versions of avisynth?
thanks for the help.
No problem. JDobbs would be better to answer the questions on the AVISynth. I use the Pro version and i always jsut use the installer to allow it to install the versions that he deems best to work with his program. I figure its safest like that LOL
