Can any body help i have TMPENC Studio and recently i was on holiday and took my dvd camcorder and made various holiday movies which i have now added sound to etc and are ready to make one video however whilst i was out on holiday i purchased a movies frow a underwater world which i want to include in my movie but when i go to add it it says that it is incompatable as all my camcorder shots where shot in 16.9 and the purchased movie is 4.3.

Assuming you have NTSC at 720x480 ... you cut 60 from the top and 60 from the bottom so you have 720x360 then you resize from 720x360 to 720x480 and it is now 16x9 WS NTSC format.
Assuming you have PAL at 720x576 ... you cut 72 from the top and 72 from the bottom so you have 720x432 then you resize from 720x432 to 720x576 and it is now 16x9 WS PAL format.

Here is another option ...
Assuming you have NTSC at 720x480 you would resize it to 528x480 then add 88 pixels of black to either side so you end up with 720x480 thus giving you 16x9 WS NTSC.
Assuming you have PAL at 720x576 you would resize it to 528x576 then add 88 pixels of black to either side so you end up with 720x576 thus giving you 16x9 WS NTSC.
This method will retain the entire 4:3 image so that on a 16x9 WS TV the image will fit from top to bottom but will have black on either side (to fill out the wider image of a 16x9 WS TV). Unfortunately on a 4:3 TV you get the "postage stamp" look in that the 4:3 image will be "shrunk" so that there is black on the top and bottom as well as either side.
The method I mentioned in my first post above will give you a full screen image on a 16x9 WS TV and on a 4:3 TV the image will fit from right to left but will have a bit of black above and below. This will match your 16x9 WS camcorder footage very nicely but it does require cutting the top and bottom of the image. That was why I decided to give you the other option I detailed in this post.

Here is an example picture to help illustrate.
STAR TREK
The image above is your standard 4:3 image and would completely fill a 4:3 TV so that you see what you see above.
If you use my first method ... where you chop off the top and bottom in order to convert to 16x9 WS ... this is what you see:
Method #1 on a 4:3 TV
Method #1 on a 16x9 WS TV
If you use my second method ... where you resize without any cutting of the image in order to convert to 16x9 WS ... this is what you see:
Method #2 on a 4:3 TV
Method #2 on a 16x9 WS TV
I hope this helps
