DVD::Rip. If you want a DVDShrink, then K9Copy.

Ive tried dvd rip but I couldnt find a decrypter?

and no matter what I do in dvd rip I keep getting an error sayiong that it couldnt create an IFO did you specify a mount point for your DVD drive.

I have specified a folder for the mount point and it says OK in preferences.

K9copy gives broken pipe fatal error no such directory

For DVD backup, there are other programs in addition to k9copy.

There is the kde application Molphin (I haven't tried this myself yet):
    http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=35919

    Another program is klvemkdvd
    http://lvempeg.sourceforge.net/klvemkdvd.html

From command line, there is also lxdvdrip:
    http://developer.berlios.de/projects/lxdvdrip

    Another program (ldvd):
    http://ldvd.sourceforge.net/?page=download
    http://ldvd.sourceforge.net/?page=screenshots

To simply rip the dvd to your hard drive, there is dvdbackup:
    http://dvd-create.sourceforge.net/

    or vobcopy
    http://vobcopy.org/projects/c/c.shtml

    or dvdrippper
    http://www.ratedo.com/projects/dvdripper.html

also consider gvdvdenc (for ripping dvds and saving as avi files (mpeg4)):
    http://sakya.altervista.org/gbdvdenc/index_eng.html

There are also many more ....

Good luck in finding what you need.
