I have a SONY DVD403 cam corder. My girlfriend and I recently went out for the day and took some clips. When I transfered the footage to my PC I noted that one of the clips she had taken played SIDEWAYS, this is crazy When I asked her about it she said I put the cam corder on its side it should be ok like a still camers ( DUH !! ) Now what !?! I have tried several programmes but nothing plays it properly.

Is there a software programme that will allow me to rotate the movie ( like you can with stills in windows picture & fax viewer ) ? I very much want to sort this out as we cannot recreate the movies again If I can find a programme to rotate it, presumably I can "save as" and then all will be well ie it will play as NORMAL ?

AviSynth has the capability to rotate the video 90 degrees, then Virtualdub can preview the video and then create an .AVI clip. It will be considerably larger than your original MPEG file.
