  1. I've got an .mkv file that i have, im attempting to convert it to dvd mpeg, and demux the subs, normally i would just run the mkv through virtualdubmod and demux everything, convert the video portion through tmpgenc or cce...or whatever else........but with this particular video, it came up with an error that i've never seen before...it said matroska stream 1 doesn't have a sample rate........i can still feed the video portion to tmpgenc, but i can't extract the subs.......anyone got any ideas on how i can either extract the subs or create new ones? the video is h.264 and the audio appears to be aac audio....

Yeah, VirtualDubMod can only handle VfW video. It can't handle Native AVC and other newer mkv features. That's why there is a popup when you first run it warning that the mkv support is out of date. From recollection it even suggests mkvtoolnix which includes mkvextract.

Hi, Balrick. I've installed mktoolnix and am using mkextract to take the files out of mkv files. But whenever I do that, my audio and video are out of sinc (like, video 24 min, audio 21 min). Please, help.

the mkv could be vfr, variable frame rate...and I don't know any simple solution for that. see http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic...fr+mkv#1426652

Yeah, it is VFR. But I don't know how to do what Celtic Druit suggested. Should I extract the avi file, the convert it to m2v? But how to I get the different frame rate sections one by one?
