Click on start then select either Log Out or if thats not there SHut down THEN select log out. You SHOULD be able to login as administrator at that point with the password you setup.

If Admin isn't an option you may want to turn off the graphical login inside Control Panel.

Just take a word of advice and make double sure you know all the actual logins and passwords for the machine before you mess with anything. I'd hate to see you get locked out.

you can boot in safe mode and this will allow you to log in as admin. once there I would change your own user name privelages to full so you can install under your own user name.

Almost sounds like group policy restricting you. Better talk to your IT guys

Incidently, I found a boot CD image today via google that allows you to reset / blank / change the local administrator password. Absolutely brilliant !

    If in doubt, Google it.

I've used this on an XP machine where the Admin password had been set by the retailer so you had to go back to him if you wanted to change anything. Ran it as a last resort and it simply removes the password so you don't need to enter one. Definitely works and doesn't affect anything else.
