    between the two what would be the better choice.

    same price for me.. but just wondering which has better dvd writting quality?

    Those numbers seem a little strange.

    DVR-233-S appears to be a NTSC DVR
    DVR-RT501S appears to be a PAL DVR/VHS combo unit.

    If that's corect, no comparison.
