    Man i feel powerless, the dvd only shows this:
    (Player’s Region Settings)
    <1> : Region
    <2> : Region
    <3> : Region
    <4> : Region
    <5> : Region
    <6> : Region
    Pick Out One Of These!

    and i cant pick anything.... no buttons of the control or in the dvd works when that screen appears, only eject and turn off. please help me!

    Hmmm... if the remote is unresponsible that could be a defective unit.

    I know that in the Amazon.com user comments for this unit there's a ton of good info about how to hack into this model. There's also some info for this model the DVD PLAYERS section of this site (see the left toolbar).

    If you haven't already read through this info, I'd do so before getting the unit replaced.
