I definitely want to begin to use Windows Media Player Classic, but i already have installed Windows Media Player. Do i have to remove Windows Media Player before i start to use Windows Media Player Classic ? Or can i have both silmutaneously ?
Thanks for your help,
J. Silva

They are totally independent, and can be used side by side.

I have and use both with no problems or conflicts at all.
Windows Media Player is a fantastic "juke box" (though a bit of a resource hog).
But it's crap for a video player.
Media Player Classic is the best video player I've come across. It's FREE! Easy as hell to use, no installation necessary. Navigating DVD's can sometimes be a bit cumbersome though.

just to be clear, Media Player Classic is not part of Windows (though it is based on windows media player 6.4.
You can use along with other players just fine.
I would also recommend you try VLC media player which is an excellent player which uses its own codecs and not to mention its also freeware.
...and the fact that you can install a plugin to read RAM (Real Media) files is a huge plus. No more RealONE player. God, I hate that thing.Originally Posted by waheed
