IO I/O Magic 16x External USB -- slow burn, only at 2.4x/4x with a 8x Disk

I bought an IO Magic 16x External USB (2.0), and plugged it in my PC (USB 2.0 too), but found that it only burns at 2.4x or 4x. Tried DVDDecrypter and Nero and get the same thing.

I try uninstall it fro the Device Manager and then reboot the machine, the same. I also downloaded the latest APSI driver (v. 4.7.1?) from adeptec, the same.

It seems that quite some people have the same problem, after I did some search. But I really couldn't find the soslution.

Anybody has any ideas? Thanks!!!!!!!

By the way, the model number is : IDVD16DDBE

Try installing the latest MB drivers. Also, try removing any other USB devices/cables so that the burner is the only device connected. You may also want to reverify your pc is actually usb2.0.
