what font are the subtitles in DVD's displayed in? Is it possible to change the font using IFOEdit etc? If yes, which font is the most advisable to use.

dvd subs are images. if you want to change the style you must convert the dvd image subtitles to text and then convert it back. way way way tooo much work.

Mostly a sanserif font like "ARIAL" (that is what I use, anyway). You cannot directly change the font using any program, because they are bitmapped images, as Baldrick says.

However, programs like SUBRIP can capture them via OCR to a text file. You can then change the font to whatever you want. It does take effort, but it's really not all that much.

Take it from someone who tried to add subtitle tracks to an existing DVD-R, only to be repeatedly frustrated by their refusal to work after certain points in the video. Until someone programs a simplified subtitle tool, this operation is far more trouble than it is worth. Things I would rather do than edit subtitles include eating a boot.

I use Arial Bold 22 for subs in DVD Architect. They look perfect.

I didnt find a few tutorials on adding subtitles to DVD's but it isn't worth the trouble at all. However, is it possible to load subtitles during playback. I know for a fact that MPC can do this for DivX movies but can i do the same for DVD movies? How?
