  1. I've installed vobsub 2.23 as i need to hardcode subtitles on a divx movie using virtualdub. However whenever the movie starts compressing i can see two sets ofsubtitles in exactly the same format. If i alter the subtitle configuration in virtualdub the new format is reflected in both sets of subtitles when compressing.

Initially i had attempted to install ffshow but uninstalled it after i decided that i wanted a small and simple program. I then rebooted and installed vobsub which stalled on completion.(I believe that's a bug in the installer.) The format for the subtitles in the vobsub configuration setting are different from the settngs in virtualdub so it does'nt appear to be a vobsub setting and i've disabled subtitles in WMP, Winamp and DivX player. I don't have any other player. Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?

I'd suggest VSFilter, just rename to vsfilter.vdf and place in your VDub plugin dir. It will give you textsub and vobsub, just newer versions than those included with vobsub 2.23.

  3. Thanks celtic_druid, unfortunately it did'nt help. I still have two sets of subtitles. I also have installed subrip, subrip workshop and and diretct sub. Do you think any of these are causing the duplication (although none of my players were showing subitles before i installed vobsub).

In VirtualDub? No. It doesn't use directshow so directshow filters make no difference.

  5. Is there any way of removing all directshow filters just in case i have two sets of filers installed somewhere

  6. Can anybody come up with any suggestions about this. I have uninstalled vobsub, unregistered and uninstalled DirectVobSub cleaned the registry and reinstalled DirectVobSub but i still have the same problem. I have removed the plugins from virtualdub and reinstalled just vobsub and detected that the problem now exists in Windows Media Player as well (It was'nt there previously)

    Help! Please!
