Anyone else getting a virus message when they try to go into the computer section of the forum?

Started popping up tonight, its JS/Exploit-Script which is just a generic error but I thought it was odd enough to mention.

Well Dr. Fautus I've found two possible answers to your mystery. The first would be on line 39, the ending javascript tag is on the same line as a comment and my text editor shows it as a comment. But since that is templated it would or should return a error on every page.......

The real culprit in my opinion is Supreme2k <start dramatic music> He has a post with javascript quoted in it http://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=286705 , you'll find it on line 517 for the computer forum (at least at the time I'm writing this). The preview you get when you mousover a post is apparently supposed to work for the last poster as well which he is.... doens't work though.

I'm guessing your machine is picking up on the javascipt text which is not enclosed in any tags (which it shouldn't be) within the javascript that doesn't work giving you the error....

I made a post with JS code posted in the original and a reply in the test forum. Load that up and see if you still get the error. Might also help if you know the line it's on....

BTW... I don't get any error or warning....

  8. I am coreect then... post a reply to my test and it will go away since I won't be the last poster.

How strange. Its just bare code but it causes my scanner to freak like a virus or something. I blame my job for having it set to the "tin foil hat" setting.

    great observation

  10. Baldrick should just remove the mousover event for last poster, it's not doing anything but making the pages bigger....

<note to self> start every post with quoted javascript to drive Faustus insane </note to self>

Faustus, are you sure your PC isn't infected with a virus. Is it just Videohelp or you do you also experience similar errors with other web pages as well.

  13. What I posted would be the answer because as soon as I posted the same thing in the test forum he got the warning on the main index....

His virus scanner or whatever is a little touchy... it's seeing the JS tag which is not enclosed so it makes no difference.... it's only plain text.

mouseover event for last poster? Where? Is that something new that got added that I'm missing? All I still see is the op mouseover.

Hmmm, no it doesn't. I tried it both IE and FF and it works in neither. The mouseover on a topic works fine though.

Edit: I was mousing over the posters name....

Norton Firewall used to do this to me. One of the many reasons it started to piss me off.

Every now and then it will display pages funny with Kerio, but only if they are really long pages with lots of stuff going on (bbcode, images, files, etc).
