I'm not sure how many people actually look at this site beyond the forum, but has anybody clicked on the DONATE button lately? It's on the menu to the left of your browser window, in the middle of the OTHER section.

    Click on it.

There have been 16 (SIXTEEN!) donations in the past 6 months.

In the same 6 months there have been about 10 million visitors.

In the same 6 months there were about 10,000 new forum members (total of 116,000 registered users)

I know of at least one other video info site in the same situation. And there are probably a few more. And then I can only imagine the freeware and donationware programmers.

I know times are tough (gas/petrol, natural disasters, war) .... but .... think of all you've gotten from these sites and programmers. Toss them a bone, they need your financial help. I'm sure you want these sites to stay online/updated, and I'm sure you want freeware to get updates as time goes on.

Start with http://www.videohelp.com/donate and make a few rounds to your favorite sites and free softwares. $2 each, $5 each, whatever ... spread it around to those that have helped you.

I saw that myself earlier yesterday.. I'm gonna be donating again this coming week, cause I've saved quite a bit of cash with the advice and help in here on purchases of hardware alone, not counting the money saved using freeware programs vs. the pay for ones suggested in here...Maybe changing the format here would ellicit more donations, say have a basic version of the site and a donators version of the site...Just an idea..(and I KNOW I'll get slammed for even bringing that up.. )

It's a lousy excuse, but PayPal doesn't accept members from many countries.

I would also make it more visible, The (Button)/(Link).

Unless it was meant to be hidden?

And not everyone likes or uses services like PayPal. If Baldrick is able to cash a U.S. Postal Money Order, and will let me know where to send it, I'll be glad to do that. (Please post the info here in the forum, so we know it's the real deal.)

I can't hide my shame, mon...

I'm in for a few sheckels. I must say, though, that it would be nice to have an alternative method of donation. Just something to think about...

This email confirms that you have paid baldrick@videohelp.com $10.00 USD using PayPal.
This credit card transaction will appear on your bill as "PAYPAL *VIDEOHELP".

I did my part, please do yours. I've set up a monthly system in which to donate each month. After all it is my homepage and is worth it's weight in gold.

Baldrick I made a donation through Kagi on the 27th. I don't see my name listed. Let me know if you didn't get it so I can contact them.

Same here! I just want to make sure the money is getting where it is suppose to go. I could care less about public acknowledgement for doing so. This is a great site with a select group of very knowledgeable folks. I enjoy reading this more than the news. I would have an empty heart if this site did not pop up when I hit Internet Explorer icon.

When the site is down I go through VHelp Withdrawal and my wife tells me I'm a miserable S.O.B.

I have updated the list now.

If you hate paypal you can visit our sponsors instead or just help some users in the forum so they donate instead....

I've found another option recently. It would be for us who live in the countries which can not use Paypal. The service is similar to Paypal.
    It's www.moneybookers.com.
I've seen some other web pages which use their link for donations (for example Safer networking, Spyboot SD).
I've used their services and everything looks smooth and simple.

So, Baldrick, I'm kindly asking you to see about it. If you put their link on the donation page - I'ld be the first to use it.

And one more thing - if you really want people to donate, the DONATE button should be much more visible.

    Thank you.

    No donations since July 2007

Now that Mr. B is making tons of money, can we get a return on our investment?
