is my dvd dying?

i backed up a movie about 7 months ago, and played it numerous times over the months on my philips dvd player, and it has worked fine.

however, after playing it today, i have noticed that now that same disc jumps and skips after the first 14 mins and then just freezes.

i tried it in my xbox and and my samsung dvd player and the exact same thing happens.

the disc seems to be in perfect condition and there are no scratches etc,

what could be the problem all of a sudden, since it was playing fine before?

Try running DVD Info Pro's read test and speed test over it and see what it says.
