Sony DCR-TRV19 : Dark bars on playback

I've owned this camera for about 2 years now, and recently I've started to see dark bars down the side of the camera. I've tried switching tapes but problem does not go away. Anyone else experienced this? Have solution?

I have a TRV19 that I got exactly two years ago. No dark bars for me.

Do the bars run vertically on both sides? Can you post a screen cap of what it looks like?

Called the support number at Sony and was told it was a reported defect. They are sending me a packaging label, and fixing it at no cost. Very happy with response from them.
