  1. Hi,

I have a few DVD Disc that are scratched up alittle. When I try to copy it the copy skips and freezes alittle when it's played in my DVD Player.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair the disc at least long enough for me to make a good copy of it?

    Thank's A Million...

I've heard of and seen skipdoctor-type devices ruin discs. Some people suggest toothpaste, but I've never had to try it. If the disc is really important, go pay a service that specializes in repairing scratched DVDs. You really cannot fix a bad scratch at home.

Fellowes CD/DVD Scratch Repair Kit was only $5 at Wal-Mart. I say WAS because at least here in Canada they seem to have gone out of business to be replaced by Maxell products and they don't have any scratch repair kits available. The Fellowes kit worked great on many of the scratched discs I have got from the rental store.

Yes, Fellowes CD Scratch Repair Kit works better than anything! It has a chemical-soaked cloth that softens up the plastic just enough to rub out the scratches. Of course this cloth dries out after a few days, so have a stack of discs ready to repair before opening it. I think you can still get it at Office Max.
