Hello
I downloaded an AVI-file with Emule.
During the download I previewed the file. It was OK. It was no fake.
But after the download is finished ..
A player cannot display the AVI-file. It hangs!
Do you know why? This is the only file, which is strange ..
GSpot, AVIcodec, Window Media Player, BSplay and Zoom Player .. all hang!
What can I do?
Thank you.

Oh course this was not a commercial movi release right?
Lesson learned. Quit downloading from places like E-mule. Learn to make your own legal backups from your own purchased DVDs.But after the download is finished ..
A player cannot display the AVI-file. It hangs!
Have their crap is encoded with Lord nows what so it's no surprice to me you can't play it.No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
I would suggest buying the movie (if it is commercial).

I would suggest that there's a lot of stuff available on P2P that isn't warez

Try loading the file into virtualdub, and doing a direct stream copy on both video and audio. This will rewrite the (I suspect) corrupt headers. If in doubt, Google it.

Any Movie --> 1 VCD The TMPGEnc Way
Because my DVD-player cannot play AVI/MPG-files.
I'm curious how good the quality is. Thanks.
