  1. I've searched all over before posting this, and couldn't find the answer to what I'm trying to do. All I want to do is change the chapter locations for a DVD that I've copied over to my hard drive. I want everything else to remain exactly the same, so I don't see why I should have to re-author just to change where the chapter breaks go. I've heard some people say IFOEdit can do this, but I haven't been able to figure out how. I know I can load the .ifo file, and extract a celltimes.txt with IFOEdit, but I don't see any way to edit that file and then merge it back into the .ifo. So, basically I have two questions. First, is there a way to change where the chapter breaks are located without having to completely re-author the DVD? And if that isn't possible, then what would be the most straightforward method of re-authoring? This particular DVD has AC3 audio, and it also contains a subtitle stream, so if I had to re-author, the program would need to support all of those things. I've heard someone suggest using IFOEdit itself to re-author, but last I knew it didn't create standard/compatible DVDs. If anyone can lead me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

The process of authoring normally adds the chapters into the IFO(s), but I'm not totally sure if you can just edit the IFO(s) manually and add your own chapter breaks in. I know that your chapter stops must correspond to I-frames though.

I'm thinking that DVDRemake could possibly do what you require. You'd probably still have to "export" (re-author) though.
    If in doubt, Google it.

The IFO file of each titleset contains pointers inside the VOB files of the titleset. These pointers point to sectors, so - in theory - you should be able to modify these using IFOEdit and see for yourelf the result.

I would suggest that you make a copy of all the IFO files that you edit so you can restore them if your modifications corrupt the structure.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

DVD specs is the reason Chapter can only start at the begining of a cell. So you will need to split your video at a point where you want to have chapter start and adjust DVD structure accordingly.

Take a look at this guide: http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepr...rt_chapter.php It is just few mouse clicks to do what you want with DvdReMake Pro.
