I extracted a 30 chapter from a DVD as a .vob - when I try to encode with either the h.264 (mp4) or the mov (mp4) quick presets I end up with a file that is 0 kB.

Seems there is a problem creating the aac audio?? No
XviD and DivX quick presets work fine on this vob though.

It seems that stream 1 is a subtitle, so you cannot convert it to audio. As you can see in the output, the audio in this VOB seem to be in stream 8, 11, 12 and 13. Try to select 12 as audio track and check again.
Where do you select the track?
In the audio tab there is 0-9 and any one of those I selected resulted in the same output.
Indeed, I need to put more tracks in the audio popup. In the meantime, encode from VIDEO_TS instead as from VOB. You should not get any problems in that case, as only the available audio tracks will be listed in the popup.
Yeah VIDEO_TS is no problem - but I like to extract a 1 minute or so chapter and then try various settings.
Also I tried demuxing the vob into streams but when I try to mux back in only one audio stream with the video I always seem to get errors.
Another thing I was wondering is if 5.1 ac3 to 5.1 AAC works.
Thanks for the help!
Extract the chapter with only one audio stream and no subtitles.Originally Posted by live4ever
